Vitamin D3 supplements in India: Uprise 60K, D-Rise 60K and daily-dose products compared

A 60,000 IU prescription-style dose is one hundred times a 600 IU daily tablet. Learn why these products should never be swapped dose for dose.

THE QUICK READ

First separate daily nutrition from deficiency treatment

Vitamin D labels use IU and micrograms: 1 microgram equals 40 IU. A 600 IU tablet contains 15 micrograms; a 60,000 IU sachet or capsule contains 1,500 micrograms. They are not interchangeable. High-dose regimens are usually time-limited and based on blood level, symptoms, bone risk, kidneys, calcium and a clinician's plan.

Uprise D3 60K and D-Rise 60K

Both names are associated with 60,000 IU cholecalciferol formats in India, sold as capsules or granules depending on the pack. The meaningful comparison is excipients, dosage form, price and authorised supply, not potency: the headline dose is the same. Never interpret 'once weekly' from someone else's prescription as a permanent schedule.

HK Vitals 600 IU and D3 plus K2 formulas

HK Vitals' daily D3 listing uses 600 IU, a very different nutritional dose. Some brands combine D3 with vitamin K2 and imply superior calcium direction. K2 makes the product unsuitable for casual use with warfarin and does not remove the need for adequate calcium, strength exercise or osteoporosis assessment. Independent Indian ratings can add useful batch information but apply only to the tested batch.

When more becomes harmful

Vitamin D toxicity raises calcium and can cause nausea, constipation, thirst, frequent urination, weakness, confusion, kidney stones or kidney injury. Risk rises when high-dose products are repeated for months or stacked with multiple supplements. Granulomatous disease, kidney disease, hyperparathyroidism and some medicines require individual guidance.

How to choose and monitor

Ask what dose, frequency, duration and retest date are intended. Check whether the product is D3 or D2, tablet, softgel or sachet, and whether dietary restrictions matter. Do not combine a 60K product with a multivitamin and calcium-D tablet without adding the totals. Treat the blood result and the person, not the most dramatic number on the bottle.

QUICK ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

Can I take 60K vitamin D every day?

No, not unless a specialist has prescribed an unusual monitored regimen.

Is D3 better than D2?

D3 often raises levels more efficiently, but the correct dose and adherence matter.

Do I need a blood test?

Testing is most useful when deficiency risk, symptoms or high-dose treatment is being considered.

Does K2 make high-dose D3 safe?

No. K2 does not prevent vitamin D toxicity and can interact with warfarin.

Can vitamin D treat hot flushes?

It treats deficiency and supports bone health; it is not an established hot-flush therapy.
